Our calves live the life that all calves dream about: They are well suited for life outside and we afford them that. We utilize rotational pasture methods. In the spring and summer they graze on lush green pastures. After our fall corn harvest, they are free to roam and feed on the corn and shucks. This is done for many reasons. First, it protects the soil from over abuse and properly distributes manure. Second, it ensures abundant vegetation and variety to their diet. Third, and most important, it breaks up the parasite lifecycle and helps us keeps the calves healthy. The Wangus blend perfectly combines the marbling and flavor from the Wagyu influence with the palatability and tenderness of the Angus influence. The flavor of the beef speaks for itself and stays true to our mission that “Quality is our passion.”.
Kurobuta pork is considered to be the pork equivalent of American Wagyu beef. Created from the Berkshire pig, Kurobuta is a heritage pork that comes from Japan, world-renowned for its hefty fat content and exceptional tenderness. All of the corn and soybeans fed to our hogs are raised right here on our farm. We know exactly where it came from while reducing a carbon footprint. We also use the manure to incorporate into our farm improving soil health. Cornstalks from our fields are used to bed our hogs giving them a natural environment to farrow and grow.
All of our calves are raised following standards that comply with the Quality Beef Assurance Program. This program provides systematic information to U.S. beef producers of how good husbandry techniques can be coupled with accepted scientific knowledge to raise cattle under optimum management conditions. BQA programs have evolved to include best practices around cattle handling, facility management, cattle transportation, good record keeping and protecting herd health, which all result in better outcomes for cattle and producers. Today, having an active BQA certification is more important than ever because the full beef supply chain is leveraging the program to ensure our commitment to food safety, cattle well-being, and beef quality.

We grow 100% heritage breed pigs. All our animals are raised humanely, outdoors, on-pasture, using traditional farming techniques. They reproduce naturally and are never fed any antibiotics or growth hormones. Heritage meats are juicy and tender from their marbling, and boast a profound taste and depth of flavor that has not been squashed by a corporate culture that only cares about rapid production. We are committed to healthful products and practices that are pure and natural as possible, without synthetic additives or pollutants and without the unnecessary complexities of packaging or marketing. We are also committed to the conservation of resources, both natural resources like the land and water, and societal resources like the families and businesses that plant and harvest.
The land is beautifully enriched loamy soil that generates high yields. Pasture fields are vibrant green for cattle grazing. Crop management historically was by conventional practices that have since transitioned to more sustainable and climate smart practices such as no till, solar power, animal integration, cover crops, and carbon credit program participation. We have also planted apple, peach, cherry, and fig trees to add to our bountiful pecan, walnut, and apricot trees. A berry patch is also new, with thornless blackberries and blueberries. We believe in the synergy between our animals and land is positively impacting the earth.
A growing awareness of the need for more resilient farming and food systems is leading to greater interest in regenerative approaches. Key goals include building more integrated approaches to regenerative farming and developing food systems that are more resilient. The long-term success of our farm is clearly based on economics, but it is also based on the productivity of our soil. Regenerative agriculture approaches start with improving the health of the soil. The goal is to have a more resilient farm that can better sustain our land and our family into the future.
Carbon credits, emphasizing a reduction in our CI (Carbon Intensity) score, are a continued direction to expand in alignment with global opportunities. We look to work with more companies to build environmental and economic sustainability.
